The West Africa Diaspora Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has honored the Lyalode of Yoruba Kingdom-Ghana and the Yeye Oba of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Chief Mrs. Risikat Vanderpuije for impact and her contributions immensely, meaningfully to the growth of her community and how she has projected the good deeds of Yoruba community.
The event held in Accra on Saturday, February 11, 2023 acknowledged personalities and institutions in humanitarian, leadership, culture, entrepreneurs, and mentorship icons among others dubbed; “APC West Africa Diaspora Awards and Dinner Night” brought APC members, sympathizers, and friends of the Party across the West Africa sub-region.
The event witnessed the rich display culture of Nigeria, high-ranking political figures and entrepreneurs were in attendance including traditional rulers and the clergy.
Amongst the awardees were Alhaji Mohammed Braihma, Chief Imam Dr. Mustapha Akanji, Mr. Laide Fowosere, Amb. Valentine Ogege, Mr. Adeshile Adedeji and Mr. Gideon Olatunde Igbasun. The rest were, Chief Alh. Abdul-Azeez Tunde Yahaya, HRH Alh. KIng Adebayo Yahaya Ola, Chief Dr. Jackie Kassim, Hon. Imam Hussain Gbadegesin and Engr. Abiodun Oyebola. Others included Alh. Ahmod Busari Morogun, Alhaji, Abdul Razzaq Khailann, Alhaji El-Azziz Fattau, Electoral Commission of Ghana, Hon. Baroness Tinuke Davies-Kesington, , and ACP Sheriff Abubakar Rabiu retired.
In his remarks, the regional Chairman of the APC West Africa Diaspora, Chief David Alex-Duduyemi who doubles as the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC thanked the dignitaries and invited guests who travelled from far and near for finding the time during their busy shedules to honour the invitation.
He said their presence at the function was in conformity with the the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu message of bringing hope to the most populous country in Africa adding that the dinner and awards night was highly imperative for the accomplishment of the task ahead for the APC in the upcoming general election in Nigeria.
Chief David Alex-Duduyemi noted that over five million Nigerians reside in other countries of the West Africa sub-region which are neighbors to Nigeria hence the need for them to access the electoral process in achieving its national goal.
He reiterated that it is the responsibility of the group to encourage all Nigerian electorates to travel back to Nigeria to exercise their franchise adding that the group is committed to ensuring by mobilizing the electorates to vote for the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Receiving the award on behalf of Chief Mrs. Risikat Vanderpuije who is also a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Chief Surakat Lawal, described the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a philanthropist and father for all who does not discriminate and a man of vision who will bring development to Nigeria.
She commended organisers of the event while applauding supporters and sympathizers of the APC for their role in making sure the Party will remain in power.
Chief Mrs. Risikat Vanderpuije also pledged her commitment to the West Africa Diaspora chapter of the APC in ensuring Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins the upcoming election.
Chief Mrs. Risikat Vanderpuije was presented with beautiful citations and a golden plaque. Organizers of the awards believe the honorary was a step in the right direction since it is their mandate to ensure that all Nigerians living in West Africa go back to Nigeria to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become the next President of Nigeria.
