Failure Akufo-Addo Making Ghana Like Hell – Methodist Priest

The Head Pastor of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Asylum Down of the Greater Accra region, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei, has described President Akuffo Addo as a failure and a huge disappointment for not living up to Ghanaians’ expectations.

He revealed that the President has failed to leave up to expectations judging from the mouthwatering promises he made to Ghanaians before he was given the nod as the President.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaianvoiceonline.com in Accra, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei noted that the New Patriotic Party and Nana Addo’s led government have not done well in managing the economy making him fail miserably.

“A lot of people are disappointed because we felt they were coming to do better than the NDC but they’ve proven that they are worse”. He lamented.

According to the Man of God, Ghana’s economy has been bastardized by the bad policies and systemic mismanagement by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and President Akufo-Addo making Ghanaians feel the gravity of the economic hardship adding that Ghanaians are enduring is unbearable.

“Look at the prices of food, fuel, water bills, and electricity bills, now we cannot buy anything in Ghana. Everything in this country is costive and now Ghana is like hell. We are living in hell because the suffering is too much. Our political leaders are not suffering because they have the money they don’t understand our suffering”. He stressed.

Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei also blamed the high cost of living in the country for the high importation of foreign products to the country putting pressure on the growth of the economy. He said we must as a matter of urgency reduce our dependence on imported goods and enhance our self-reliance.

The Apostle added that as a country we must work to ensure that the majority of goods in our shops and marketplaces are those produced and grown in the country,

Touching on the 66th Independence Day celebration of Ghana, he noted that it appears Ghana is moving backward instead of moving forward saying; there is no development plan for the country but rather politicians today are only fighting to take power and after taking power, they do the little.

He, therefore, called on the government to create more entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth to reduce the high rate of unemployment among the youth in the country. He said when the opportunities are created, it would enable the youth to come together to build understanding, reduce misconceptions and develop healthy relationships.

Commenting on ex-gratia, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei applauded former President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to abrogate ex-gratia when he becomes President of the country again saying; he is supportive of the abrogation of the ex-gratia for Article 71 office holders.

Former President Mahama said he will scrap the payment of ex-gratia to Article 71 officeholders should he be re-elected President of Ghana in the 2024 elections.
