Few months ago, when the Court of Appeals began hearing of the presidential election petition brought before it by the Labour Party, LP, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, I told a friend that the mistake LP/PDP would make is to not focus on the real issues of the election.
I opened that if they try to bring extraneous issues like Tinubu’s academic certificate, and the allegef US drug case, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, would make them look like fools by summarily dispatching those issues when APC/Tinubu start their defence.
I am not a lawyer, but commonsense should tell anyone that not staying on real issues of the election before the tribunal would be an exercise in futility.
What the LP/PDP ought to do is to prove their cases with incontrovertible evidences that showed that the conduct or the result of the election contravenes the Electoral Act 2022 in such a way that makes the election a totally flawed, and thereby rendering the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, invalid, bill and void.
Until the LP/PDP closed their petitions, I did not see anything they brought to court to change the course of the election result as declared by INEC.
As usual, and because our people deploy emotions more than reason on every matter, just like you see in the young girl who allegedly forged JAMB result, they would keep making noise over non issues. Emotions don’t win cases. Incontrovertible evidences that are above every REASONABLE DOUBT win cases.
By yesterday, when the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu started their defence, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, unarguably the most successful senior lawyer in Nigeria when it comes to election petition cases, dropped only few certified documents to dismiss the two non-electoral matter LP/PDP brought before the court.
For their ground of Tinubu’s non-qualification, based on non academic status, Olanipekun submitted copies of Tinubu’s admission letter, degree certificate and a letter from the Chicago State University confirming that he was a student, and graduated from the university with honours and was actually the best student in his department.
Concerning the celebrated and hyped drug petition, Olanipekun also responded by dropping just TWO LETTERS. One written by the Nigerian Police to the US Embassy requesting for criminal record of the defendant, and the other, a reply from the United States Embassy, dated this year confirming that Tinubu never had any record of drug-related case or criminal conviction record in the USA.
The petitioner also alleged that Tinubu cannot enter the US. Wole Olanipekun also dropped other documents, including PBAT’s visa entries to the USA up to 2021, showing US immigration entry stamps at the US points of entry.
Now, the tribunal, even in the face of objection from the petitioners admitted those evidences as good enough for defence.
Now, to the real matter of the elections, LP/PDP spent all these few months bringing witnesses to prove that the iRev server had no glitches or technical problem as alleged by INEC, and that INEC only conspired with the APC by not transmitting the result live unto the iRev server in real time.
See, this is no case. The question is, does the not transmitting the result of the election to the iRev in real time change the result of the presidential elections as recorded in the form EC8, and as witnessed by all party agents in each polling units all over the country, which all the parties have a copy of the said form EC8? The answer is No!
Is transmitting of result live in real time a legal and constitutional requirement in the Electoral Act 2022 as amended? The answer is No! The law only empowered INEC to use whatever means administratively to make sure elections are held in a transparent manner and results are declared accordingly.
In other words, INEC is the only body legally backed by law, that can determine how it wants result of the election from the polling units, wards, local governments and states transmitted to the National Collation Centre.
It is INEC’s prerogative. While they planned to transmit, but unfortunately could not, it does not invalidate the result of the election in any other way, especially when all parties already have the results in their hands, ab-initio, through their polling agents.
Finally, is there anything major that could have invalidate the result of the election as announced by INEC? The answer is No!
Let’s keep following the case in court, but remember that I told you LP/PDP has no case, and they both knew it.

The world’s largest autonomous delivery system specialized in on-demand drone delivery and instant logistics, Zipline, has unveiled its new platform that provides quiet, fast, and precise autonomous delivery directly to homes in cities and suburbs which, includes an updated drone, as well as a more accurate method of delivering parcels to a customer’s home.
The home delivery platform which is practically silent designed to sound like wind rustling leaves and is expected to deliver up to seven times as fast as traditional automobile delivery, completing 10-mile deliveries in about 10 minutes.
The new delivery platform, includes docking and charging hardware that can be attached to the outside of any building or set up as a freestanding structure. When the drones return from delivery, they will dock themselves, release their empty droid, take on a new one, and then fly back off to do another delivery.
Zipline also designed an accompanying software that can be integrated with third-party inventory management and ordering systems, as well as an app that lets customers and companies track orders “to the second.” This was revealed by the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Zipline,Keller Rinaudo Cliffton.
In a virtual meeting, he said Zipline has spent the last several years building and fine-tuning its next-generation technology, Platform 2, P2, to provide an optimal customer experience at scale. He added that, unlike other drone delivery services, Zipline’s drones fly more than 300 feet above the ground and are nearly inaudible.
“When the Zip arrives at its destination, it hovers safely and quietly at that altitude, while its fully autonomous delivery droid maneuvers down a tether, steers to the correct location, and gently drop off its package to areas as small as a patio table or the front steps of a home. This is all made possible through major innovations in aircraft and propeller design”. He stated.
According to the Co-founder and CEO of Zipline, several businesses across the healthcare and restaurant sectors, have already signed on to use Zipline’s new home delivery service. He further revealed that Sweetgreen is partnering with Zipline to further its mission of connecting people to real food in the United States while moving a step closer to its pledge to be carbon-neutral by 2027. By ordering through Zipline’s marketplace, Sweetgreen customers can get their orders using 97 percent less energy than traditional automotive methods.
Mr Cliffton, reiterated that over the last decade, global demand for instant delivery has skyrocketed, but the technology we’re using to deliver is 100 years old pointing out that they are still using the same 3,000-pound, gas combustion vehicles, driven by humans, to make billions of deliveries that usually weigh less than 5 pounds.
“It’s slow, it’s expensive, and it’s terrible for the planet, our new service is changing that and will finally make deliveries work for you and around your schedule. We have built the closest thing to teleportation ever created – asmooth, ultrafast, convenient, and truly magical autonomous logistics system that serves allpeople equally, wherever they are.” He noted.
He further stated that Zipline plans to conduct high-volume flight tests this year involving more than 10,000 test flights using about 100 aircraft. The first customer deployment of P2 will follow shortly after that. Zipline’s record for safety has been proven over the past seven years of operations and more than 500,000 commercial flights. Its long-range platform, P1, has autonomously flown 40 million miles worth of commercial deliveries through all kinds of weather without a safety incident – the vast majority of which were flights flown beyond visual line of sight.
Mr Cliffton also revealed that Zipline has received Part 135 certification, is authorized to complete the longest-range, on-demand commercial drone flights in America, and has completed more deliveries in 2022 than in all previous years combined, planning to complete about one million deliveries by the end of 2023 saying by 2025, Zipline is expected to operatemore flights annually than most airlines.
The Co-Founder and CEO of Sweetgreen Jonathan Neman, said the future of delivery is faster, more sustainable, and creates broader access, all of which provides improved value for customers. He added that “We couldn’t be more excited to work with Zipline to complement our delivery strategy. Zipline’s sustainable technology and ability to reach customers quickly, with a great delivery experience, will help us give our customers what they want when they want it.” He stated.
Michigan Medicine will use Zipline’s new service to more than double the number of prescriptions it fills each year through its in-house pharmacy. Intermountain Health will use it to deliver prescriptions to patients’ homes in the Salt Lake City metro area. MultiCare Health System plans to use the new platform to expedite diagnostics and deliver prescriptions and medical devices throughout MultiCare’s network of facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, and doctors’ offices. And Zipline’s first customer, the Government of Rwanda, will use the company’s new home delivery service to enable urban aerial last-mile delivery to homes, hotels, and health facilities in Kigali and elsewhere in the country.
Zipline’s end-to-end solution seamlessly integrates with a business’s current operations. Thatincludes its dual-use docking and charging hardware, software that easily works with third-partyinventory management and ordering systems, an intuitive app that allows order tracking down tothe second, and an autonomy system that has already guided the flight paths of 40 million commercial miles.
Each P2 Zip has a 10-mile service radius while carrying a 6-8 pound payload for out-and-backdeliveries from a single dock. Alternatively, it can also fly up to 24 miles one way from dock todock, charging at each dock before picking up its next delivery. Because Zips can move fromdock to dock, Zipline can dynamically respond to peak order times – ensuring there’s enoughdelivery capacity for an urgent prescription delivery or a busy Friday pizza night or weekdaylunch rush.

The Head Pastor of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Asylum Down of the Greater Accra region, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei, has described President Akuffo Addo as a failure and a huge disappointment for not living up to Ghanaians’ expectations.
He revealed that the President has failed to leave up to expectations judging from the mouthwatering promises he made to Ghanaians before he was given the nod as the President.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaianvoiceonline.com in Accra, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei noted that the New Patriotic Party and Nana Addo’s led government have not done well in managing the economy making him fail miserably.
“A lot of people are disappointed because we felt they were coming to do better than the NDC but they’ve proven that they are worse”. He lamented.
According to the Man of God, Ghana’s economy has been bastardized by the bad policies and systemic mismanagement by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and President Akufo-Addo making Ghanaians feel the gravity of the economic hardship adding that Ghanaians are enduring is unbearable.
“Look at the prices of food, fuel, water bills, and electricity bills, now we cannot buy anything in Ghana. Everything in this country is costive and now Ghana is like hell. We are living in hell because the suffering is too much. Our political leaders are not suffering because they have the money they don’t understand our suffering”. He stressed.
Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei also blamed the high cost of living in the country for the high importation of foreign products to the country putting pressure on the growth of the economy. He said we must as a matter of urgency reduce our dependence on imported goods and enhance our self-reliance.
The Apostle added that as a country we must work to ensure that the majority of goods in our shops and marketplaces are those produced and grown in the country,
Touching on the 66th Independence Day celebration of Ghana, he noted that it appears Ghana is moving backward instead of moving forward saying; there is no development plan for the country but rather politicians today are only fighting to take power and after taking power, they do the little.
He, therefore, called on the government to create more entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth to reduce the high rate of unemployment among the youth in the country. He said when the opportunities are created, it would enable the youth to come together to build understanding, reduce misconceptions and develop healthy relationships.
Commenting on ex-gratia, Apostle Dr. Daniel Agyei applauded former President John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to abrogate ex-gratia when he becomes President of the country again saying; he is supportive of the abrogation of the ex-gratia for Article 71 office holders.
Former President Mahama said he will scrap the payment of ex-gratia to Article 71 officeholders should he be re-elected President of Ghana in the 2024 elections.

The Dzaasetse of Nii Boiman in the Okaikoi North Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayi Mensah I, has cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modem community centre for the people of Nii Boiman and his environs.
The short but colorful and memorable ceremony was graced with the presence of traditional leaders of the area, allodia owners of the land, representatives from the Property Owners, members of the Okaikoi North Municipal Assembly, Assembly Members of the Okaikoi North Municipal Assembly, Landlords and Landladies Associations within the Erstwhile Sports Complex Lands, Settlers, Security Forces, among other stakeholders and community opinion Leaders.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the community centre, which was held at the project site, the Dzaasetse of Nii Boiman, Nii Ayi Mensah I, noted that, owing to the lack of a community centre for the Nii Boiman community, the people are compelled to make do with an open space on streets for several community activities.

However, he was of the view that the current situation was very inconvenient when it rains, thereby necessitating the decision to construct an ultramodern community centre befitting the status of the Nii Boiman community.
Nii Ayi Mensah I, who doubles as the Public Relations Officer for the Nii Boiman Regularization Association used the occasion to remind occupants and property owners within the erstwhile National Sports Complex enclave of the need to renew their documents with the appropriate authorities to be assured of genuine indenture.
He also reminded them of the agreement between the Lands Commission, the Asere Stool, and property owners within the National Sports Complex enclave to pay their annual ground rent at the tires and in the manner aforesaid without any deduction whatsoever whether formally demanded or not.

Nii Ayi Mensah I, seized the opportunity to make a passionate appeal to property owners to join an Association close to their area of residence and also go through the process of documentation and further receipt of a genuine indenture signed and endorsed by the allodia owners of the land.
The Personal Assistant to the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Okaikoi North Municipal Assembly, Rexford Frempong who spoke on his behalf at the ceremony emphasized the need as people to come together to develop space for public use. This according to him without coming together as a people to develop space for public use, the community will be lacking basic amenities.

Mr. Frempong noted that there are many communities in the Municipality struggling to hold an event due to the unavailability of open space in the community and they resort to organise events on the streets adding that the streets are choked and blocked for organizing events because of lack of an event center in the communities.
He pointed out that the streets in the Municipality are now laden with heavy traffic because of an event being organised on the streets and emphasized the need to guard and guide the space left to be developed to serve the people in the community.
Mr. Frempong expressed the Assembly’s proudness of the initiative by the Nii Boiman Sports Complex Regularization Association and community members for the sod-cutting for a community centre and was hopeful the sod-cutting ceremony of the community centre will become a reality and the entire community will benefit from it.
He expressed gratitude to the Chiefs and people of Nii Boiman especially Dzaasetse, Nii Ayi Mensah I, for his keen interest and continued assistance at every stage of the proposed project.
A former Chairman of the Nii Boiman Sports Complex Regularization Association and a founding father of the Association, Reverend Peter Addision giving background history of the land, said it was acquired with the help of the late Kojo-Dai, whose brother, unfortunately, fell in the pit hole and died.
“We called on the Abeka Mantse, Nii Akpajefo I, and he came with his Wulomei to perform rituals before the dead body was removed. This caused the community to ask that the land be used for the community which would benefit the entire Nii Boiman community and its environs.
The Community then contributed to the payment of the land, we also bought drinks and sheep and we were led to Nii Dzaasetse, Nii Dodoo who also led us to the Abeka Mantse Palace for the acquisition of the land for the community”. He added.
He played a glowing tribute to the founding fathers and former executives of the Association for their tireless effort for the regularization of the Sports Complex Land and he described Nii Ayi Mensah I, who is the Public Relations Officer of the Association as the go-getter of the Association.
Reverend Addision stated that Nii Ayi Mensah I, who is a native of the Asere Stool of the Ga State, which has caused the Lands Commission to partner and sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Asere Stool and the Lands Commission has led to the issuance of the leaseholds for the settlers saying due to that they are no longer squatters.
